ONE MusicFest 2012 Graces the Cover of My Urban Access
(Oct) – Atlanta, GA: One of the most talked about music festivals in Atlanta, GA,. Covers the Social City Guide of My Urban Access Magazine for their End of Summer issue. The My Urban Access Magazine Team searched around for some of the best “end of summer” festivals and with the artist line-up, the variety of activities and the vast array of different cultures; we decided that it was only fitting to have the “ONE MusicFest” grace the cover of their issue.
ONE MusicFest 2012 took place at Masquerade Park in the all new 4th Ward Historic Park, the first completed urban park of the Atlanta Beltline project. In celebration of its three year anniversary, the concert featured live performances by Santigold, Big Krit, Marsha Ambrosius, Eric Roberson and the Legends of Hip-Hop: Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Dougie Fresh, and MC Lyte. One MusicFest has grown to include an interactive block party where guest enjoyed nationally and internationally renown DJs, a Shrimp and Crabfest by Steamhouse, live art produced by ARTlanta, vending from local businesses, VIP tents and interactive gaming. This year's ONE MusicFest non-profit partner was "Year of Boulevard". Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall declared 2012 the “Year of Boulevard,” committing to revitalize and re-inspire this once dynamic intown Atlanta neighborhood.

A Day in the Life of an Intern – Simone Harvin
Fresh from completing a public relations internship in Los
Angeles, as I returned to Atlanta to finish my last quarter of school I knew if
I wanted to be savvy in PR that I needed more experience. I had my eye on The
Garner Circle PR for over a year because of the amazing events and public
relations initiatives they had previously done. So, when the opportunity arose
to apply for an internship I knew the time had finally come. Following a tweet
I saw stating The Garner Circle was looking for fall interns, I applied,
interviewed and was offered the opportunity to intern and learn from the
company. Although I had completed a previous PR internship, I was interested in
learning how The Garner Circle approached the world or public relations and
events in the Atlanta market.
The first Garner Circle event that I had the pleasure of
working on was the Kenya Moore Forever Relevant Costume Gala, held on a
beautiful Sunday evening at the Callanwolde Estate in Atlanta.
