Walk a Mile in My Shoes joins forces with Laced Up to produce first annual Shoe- A –Thon
PROJECT TO RAISE OVER 10,000 PAIRS OF SHOES FOR THE HOMELESS & THOSE IN NEED
Atlanta, Ga (December 2008) - Spearheaded by music executive - Charles McCree and sneaker authority - Ernel Dawkins, Walk a Mile in My Shoes will serve as an annual city- wide call for the entertainment world to give back. "Our goal is to shed light on an ever growing epidemic that greatly affects our city. We want to create one of the largest, most effective shoe drives in Atlanta to service individuals impacted by homelessness and those in need while creating a pattern for others to follow", stated Walk In My Shoes founder - McCree. With the efforts of a determined group of individuals including - Tangie, Radio Personality for Atlanta's People Station V-103, Amir Boyd, VP of Radio Promotions for Grand Hustle Entertainment, Jaquitta Williams, News Anchor for WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News, Aaron Hudson C.E.O of Entertainment Ventures Inc. & Work for Diddy, Ivory Weems, Artist Development for Disturbing Tha Peace Records, Terrance J from BET's 106 & Park, Entertainment Lawyer Charles Mathis, The Garner Circle PR, and Ernel Dawkins owner of Laced Up Sneaker Boutique - the initiative is to raise over 10,000 pairs of shoes to ambitiously aid those in need. The Shoe-A-Thon will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 9a.m-9p.m at the Laced Up Sneaker Boutique located at 572 Edgewood Avenue and will be hosted Tangie (V-103 personality). With celebrity shoe drop offs, large donations by corporate entities, and a strong will to make a difference, Walk a Mile in My Shoes, plans to raise the bar in being accountable for giving back.
