Michael A. Blake, Associate Director for the White House Office of Public Engagement.  Our invitees will have an  opportunity to hear him speak on the government's efforts to engage and  involve the community, along with his thoughts on how progressives can  use their influence and networks to effectuate change, more effectively,  on a local level.

Michael Blake's Bio:
This Sunday, join Atlanta's Young Progressive Leaders as they host a  welcome reception for Michael A. Blake, Associate Director for the White  House Office of Public Engagement, from 5-7pm, at the Loews Hotel.
At  only 28 years old, Michael Blake is one of the youngest and influential  members serving in the Executive Office of the President.  In his  current capacity, Mr. Blake serves as the national director of outreach  to communit...ies of color and the minority business  community. He previously coordinated outreach to county officials, state  attorneys general, secretaries of state and financial officers.
Michael  Blake was recently selected as one of Grio’s Top 100 History Makers in  the Making, where he was profiled alongside notables like Atlanta Mayor  Kasim Reed. He was also named as one of MSNBC’s 10 Black Politicians on  the Rise.
Mr. Blake has a wealth of experience in the political  arena. Prior to his current role with the White House, Michael worked as  a member of the Obama for America campaign -- first as Iowa’s Deputy  Political Director and Constituency Outreach Director, and concluding as  the Michigan State Deputy Director and Political Director.
Michael  is uniquely positioned to speak to the young professionals, activists,  and community leaders of today on how they can best impact their  community now. Please come out, this Sunday evening, to hear from one of  our nation's most dynamic young progressive leaders.
