A Day in the Life of an Intern: David Garner (Summer 2012)

I’m came to this graphic design internship looking to expand my knowledge of graphic design and what it takes to be successful in this career that I’m pursuing. As I became immersed in the arts I was given the opportunity to have an internship at The Garner Circle, which I felt is a wonderful starting point for which to get my feet wet so far my experience, has been exciting and knowledgeable. During my time here at the Garner Circle I learned how to operate different programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator I learned different methods and techniques to use when designing and what its like in the daily life as a graphic designer.

10:00-I started with designing flyers for the MillerCoors Innovation Lab Summer Experience event

1:00-I collected logos for the MillerCoors Innovation Lab Summer Experience event slide show

2:00 made adjustment to MillerCoor Innovation Lab Summer Experience flyers and made more flyers for the event

[Media Alert:] Global Pop - Rocker Santigold Performs in Atlanta Alongside Songstress Marsha Ambrosius for the Third Annual ONE MusicFest - 09.01.12

Global Pop - Rocker Santigold Performs in Atlanta For the Very First Time Alongside Award Winning Songstress Marsha Ambrosius for the Third Annual ONE MusicFest

Atlanta (Pitchengine.com) July, 2011 -The City of Atlanta Mayor's Office is excited to welcome the third annual ONE Musicfest to the all new 4th Ward Historic Park, the first completed urban park of the Atlanta Beltline project. In celebration of its three year anniversary, One Musicfest has grown from it's humble concert beginnings to include an interactive block party and food fest.  The all day outdoor concert will feature live performances by a diverse group of performers at the Masquerade Music Park.  Across the street at the Historic Fourth Ward Park, ONE Musicfest participants will enjoy nationally and internationally renown DJs, a specialty food truck park, vending from local businesses, Live Art, VIP tents and interactive gaming. ONE MusicFest will take place Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 1, 2012, can be purchased at select retailers and online at http://onemusicfest.com/tickets.html

This year ONE Musicfest brings in the talents of Santigold  and Marsha Ambrosius formerly of Floetry. Santi White, better known by her stage name Santigold, recently released her second album - Master of My Make-Believe and will join ONE MusicFest for her first ever performance in Atlanta. Additional acts will be announced in the coming weeks.  Previous ONE MusicFest concert headliners include internationally acclaimed artists such as Common, De La Soul, Goapele, Chrisette Michelle, The Pharcyde, DJ Mick Boogie and a cornucopia of grassroots talent.  ONE Musicfest's mission of Unity Through Music earned the festival organizers the city of Atlanta's coveted "Phoenix Award."  Infusing artists and bands that will unify spectators through the universal language of sound, ONE Musicfest fills a necessary void in the city's music experience.

"There is a lack of representation for soul, progressive hip-hop, alternative and rock, represented under one roof, in the format of music festivals in Atlanta", states J Carter, ONE Musicfest Producer.  "We have noticed that while there are many pockets of individuals that share taste in the same music, rarely do you see them share in this together. ONE Musicfest was created with the idea of 'music as the universal language. Over time we aim to grow this fest into a phenomenon and bring together different sectors of individuals through a unique music platform."

With the diverse musical and cultural appetites within a city rich in a history of great musical tradition, ONE Musicfest pledges to provide an environment that truly caters to the genre bending palette. ONE Musicfest will take place Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 1, 2012.  Tickets can be purchased at select retailers and online at http://onemusicfest.com
