A Day in the Life of an Intern – Simone Harvin
Fresh from completing a public relations internship in Los
Angeles, as I returned to Atlanta to finish my last quarter of school I knew if
I wanted to be savvy in PR that I needed more experience. I had my eye on The
Garner Circle PR for over a year because of the amazing events and public
relations initiatives they had previously done. So, when the opportunity arose
to apply for an internship I knew the time had finally come. Following a tweet
I saw stating The Garner Circle was looking for fall interns, I applied,
interviewed and was offered the opportunity to intern and learn from the
company. Although I had completed a previous PR internship, I was interested in
learning how The Garner Circle approached the world or public relations and
events in the Atlanta market.
The first Garner Circle event that I had the pleasure of
working on was the Kenya Moore Forever Relevant Costume Gala, held on a
beautiful Sunday evening at the Callanwolde Estate in Atlanta.
